A friend of mine preached a sermon once in which he read excerpts from the diaries of a dog and a cat. The dog was easily amused and enjoyed every aspect of his day. The cat, however, was less than happy with his environment. He spent his time plotting against his masters and the unusually joyful dog with whom he shared a home. The day of a dog. The day of a cat. One content, the other conniving. One at peace, the other at war. One grateful, the other grumpy. Same house. Same circumstances. Same masters. Yet, two entirely different attitudes. Which diary reads more like yours? Wouldn't we like to like more? We can. You don't need four legs and a tail to find out how. You simply need to embrace the counsel of Christ for a great day.
