04 Divine Drinking - Come Thirsty (MP3)Listen to a Sample I'd like to talk to you about your drinking problem. Don't think you have one? Maybe you've never bellied up to a bar. Your lips are lager-free. No matter. You may be a dry as a prohibitionist, but you still have a problem with what you swallow. The most destructive drinks never reach the belly. They stop in the heart. A good swig of anger inebriates like two-dollar wine. Regular bolts of bigotry pack the punch of a fifth of whisky. Dotting your day with gulps of stress will string you out like a dozen cappuccinos. For that reason, God urges us to be careful what we consume. Scripture declares that the best drink for your soul comes straight from the rivers of heaven. "Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters." (Isaiah 55:1) 1. Examination: What are you drinking? 2. Question: Do you really want to swallow that stuff? 3. Resolution: Be a picky drinker (thinker)! Date preached: May 25, 2003
