06 God's Word For The Worn-Out - Come Thirsty (MP3)

Listen to a Sample

On a recent trip, I made a fatal mistake with my cell phone. Before going to sleep, I placed it on the bedside, plugged the cord into the base and dozed off, confident I would have plenty of power. But when I tried to use it the next morning, the screen was blank and battery uncharged. Only then did I realize: I forgot to plug it into the wall. The phone appeared to be charging. But when put to the test, powerlessness was revealed.

Know the feeling? To others, you seem powered-up. Nothing about your demeanor would suggest a drained battery. But then come the tests. The overbearing neighbor, the seductive movie, the noisy kids. You want to keep your cool or keep your distance, but you can't. You press the 'on' key and nothing happens. Why? Your battery is drained. Been a while since you plugged yourself in? You may not know how. You can find the outlet for your phone, but an outlet for your heart? Engaging electricity is one matter, but engaging God? But how does this happen? How do I receive? Three words: head, heart, and hand.

How do I access God?
1. Head - Proverbs 2:4
2. Heart - 1 John 4:16
3. Hands - Philippians 4:9
