Look with me at the infection of sin. Sin is a state of the mind before it is a deed of the hand. An attitude before it's an action. Where we might think of sin as an occasional slip-up or misstep, God views sin as a posture of rebellion. "All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own" (Isaiah 53:6 NLT).

Blame the plague of sin on a godless worldview. The sinful mind dismisses God. His counsel... unconsulted. His voice...unsolicited. His plan...unconsidered. He, if anything, is like a middle school teacher. He may sit at the desk, but you run your life. And run it as you desire. It's your life, right? Pump your body with drugs, your mind with greed, your nights with pleasure. Sin salutes its middle letter: sIn. But when you do what you want and I do what I want and no one gives a lick what God wants, mankind is a disaster. And God has made it clear: this plague will not cross His shores.
