We’ve all committed colossal mistakes, in our youth, career, marriage or morality. We’ve all asked ourselves: “How did I ever get into this mess?” We’ve wondered, “How will I ever get out of here?” We have faced these thoughts: the end is near and I have no exit strategy. I thought of everything else: career, transportation, education, but have I made arrangements to be rescued? As the days shorten and shadows lengthen, desperation sets in. We some one to come and save us. 

Every human being needs pardon for the past and provision for the future. Hence the multi-millennium celebration of Jesus’ Easter miracle. His death on Friday gave grace for our mistakes. His resurrection on Sunday gives an answer to our grave. The reason Jesus came is to free “…all who cower through life scared to death of death” (Hebrews 2:15 MSG). “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies” (John 11:25 NIV).
