More than any other command, Jesus tells us to not fear or worry and to have courage instead. The Gospels list some 125 Christ-issued imperatives. Of these, 21 urge us to “not be afraid” or to “not fear” or to “have courage”, “take heart” or “be of good cheer”.To compare, there are only 8 instances of Jesus commanding us to love (whether it be each other or God or enemies, etc.) Whereas “love” is the most known command of Jesus, it is not the most common.
