If you could order your life like you would a cup of Starbucks, what drink would you request?  “I’ll go with a grande happy-zinho, with a dollop of love sprinkled with Caribbean retirement.”
 
Take me to that coffee shop. Too bad it doesn’t exist. The world doesn’t work that way. Life gives us orders we didn’t request, don’t want.  Do you sometimes feel as though the barista from above calls your name and hands you a cup of unwanted life?

Life comes caffeinated with surprises. Modifications.  Transitions. Alterations.  Moves. “I am going away…”  (Jn. 14:28 NLT)

Imagine their shock when they heard Jesus say those words.  The disciples were talking kingdom rhetoric, ready to rain down fire on their enemies, requesting positions on the cabinet of Christ.  They envisioned a restoration of Israel to her days of glory.

And now, this?  Jesus says, “I am going away…”  They were stunned.  Christ handed the disciples a cup of transition and they hand it back.  Wouldn’t we do the same?  Don’t we do the same?  We dislike the alterations and transitions.  Yet we can’t avoid them
