During a recent mountain climbing excursion with a group of teenagers, I spent the majority of the hike behind a young man, pushing him up the mountain, not allowing him to quit. Although he had been determined to give up, I was more determined to see the summit. The rule was: One turns back, we all turn back.

After finally reaching the peak, I slumped on the ground and a thought surfaced. Was it God speaking? Sure sounded like something he might say: "There it is, Max, a picture of my plan. No one left behind. Do all you can as long as you can to push each other to the top."  Isn't that the image of Christ? The purpose statement of Christ? "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45 NKJV)
