01 Introduction - He Chose the Nails (Pieces of Passion Series) (MP3)Click here to download this lesson for free! If you’ve ever spent time in your grandparents’ attic, you’ve likely come across some valuable pieces of your family history. Maybe you’ve found an old book authored by your great-grandfather or the program from your parents’ wedding or your own bronzed baby shoes. How carefully would you handle these artifacts? These things are valuable, at least to you, because to find something in the past is to find something about ourselves. What if we could see and touch the relics of history’s finest hour? What if we could rub a finger on the timber of the cross, press the point of nail into our hand, taste the vinegar on the sponge or feel the scrape of a thorn on our brow? What if we could touch the pieces of God’s passion? 1. No event is more essential. History has only one main event and that is the cross of Christ. 2. No pictures are more powerful. God uses more than parchment and paper; He uses pictures. 3. No promises are more crucial. What will we find in the relics of the cross? Date preached: September 12, 1999
