06 Dealing with Death- Traveling Light (MP3)Listen to a Sample Many years ago when I lived in Miami, our church office received a call from a nearby funeral home. A man had identified the body of an indigent as his brother and wanted a memorial service. He didn't know any ministers in the area and wondered if we would say a few words. The senior minister and I agreed. When we arrived, the brother of the deceased had selected text from a Spanish Bible: "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4 NKJV). He needed assurance, that though his brother had lived alone, he did not die alone. And for that assurance, he turned to this verse. Perhaps you've done the same. 1. We all have to face it. Hebrews 9:27 2. But we don't have to face it alone. John 14:2-3 Date preached: June 21, 1998
